Welcome Back!
Well our first week back was a huge success. We had fun getting to know each other and our new classroom. The kids are getting comfortable and we are diving right into our curriculum. This week in math we started learning about geometry - shapes! To review the two dimensional shapes we learned this week we used shaving cream on our desks and drew the shapes. They had a blast playing with the shaving cream! Be sure to ask your child about the shapes we discussed this week!

Science Experiment - Slime!
Today we had some AP Chemistry students come from Oak Ridge High school and do a science experiment with our second graders. They made Slime! We discussed solids, liquids and gases and how the particles combine to make things. We also tried to decide if the slime was a solid or a liquid. We finally decided that it is BOTH! The kids had a blast!
