As you will see I love taking pictures. I try my best to capture all of the special moments throughout the school year. I like taking a picture of the class during the first week, then at the end of the year I will take another picture. It is just amazing to me to see how much they change over the school year. Reading Is Fun!!

We have made it through three successful days of school! Yahoo! I took some pictures today of the kids reading. We read Frog and Toad yesterday and today they reread it with a buddy. I got each group while they were reading.

Welcome Back!

Hi there! Welcome back to school. I am so excited to have you all in my class this year. We are going to have a great year in second grade! One new and exciting thing this year is that you will actually have two teachers! I will be your Reading, Language and Spelling teacher and Mrs. Adams will be your Math, Science and Social Studies teacher! I just know you will all love switching and having two teachers everyday. Mrs. Adams and I are both very excited to see you all at Meet the Teacher night on August 20 from 5:30 - 7pm. Don't forget to bring your school supplies to your homeroom teacher and then be sure to stop by your other classroom and check it out. You can go in, meet your other teacher and find your desk. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Our second grade teachers had a different kind of contest this year. We had pie pans filled with whip cream and inside was a piece of bubble gum. The goal was to be the first to find the gum and blow a bubble. I am proud to say I won! :) I know there are pictures of me out there somewhere and I'll post them when I get them! :)

Insect Day

Remax brought their hot air balloon out to school today and we got to see it being blown up and then we walked around it while the blew the hot air inside. They also gave us each a Remax beach ball. Here are a few of my silly children!

Yipeee, summer is almost here.

This was our Insect day game. It was called the Food Chain Game. We had grasshoppers, sparrows and hawks. The grasshoppers could only eat the popcorn on the ground, the sparrows could only eat the grasshoppers and the hawks could only eat the sparrows. They would run around chasing each other. At one point our food chain stopped because all we had left were grasshoppers and hawks, all the sparrows had been eaten.

This is the funniest video. We let our grasshoppers start eating, then we let our sparrows go and you should see the grasshoppers run! Too funny!
